Applications for citizens of Nigeria
Information regarding General Commonwealth Scholarships for citizens of Nigeria can be obtained from:

Countries offering awards to Nigeria in recent years have included Brunei-Darussalam, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom.
Awards are publicised via daily newspapers, electronic media, the Nigerian Television Authority, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, all Nigerian Universities and all Sate Scholarship Boards in Nigeria. Closing dates may vary according to the needs of host countries, but the deadline for 2003 entry to the United Kingdom is expected to be at the end of September 2002. The Ministry report that the number of applications received for awards last year was 880 for the United Kingdom, 427 for Canada, 282 (New Zealand), 179 (Trinidad and Tobago), 70 (Brunei Darussalam) and 43 for Malaysia.
Selection is undertaken by an interview committee comprising professors and senior lecturers from Nigerian universities, and has regard to national manpower needs.
